Dr Rose Boswell
Dr Rosabelle Boswell is a Senior Lecturer at Rhodes University, where she has taught since 1997. Dr Boswell has completed significant research around issues such as racism, heritage and diversity. She lead a research team in the Mauritius Truth and Justice Commission which produced a report on race discourse, policy, practice and experience. Dr Boswell is the author of a wealth of publications on Mauritius, including the 2006 book ‘Le Malaise Créole: A Critical Study of Ethnic Identity in Mauritius (Berghahn Press’)’.

Dr Laura Jeffery is a Social Anthropologist at the University of Edinburgh. She has carried out research in Mauritius since 2000, primarily with the Chagossian community, focusing on forced displacement and the politics of conservation and development.
